Wellness Navigator Program

Overview

Welcome to the Wellness Navigator Program at SG Mental Health Counseling. This program empowers students and their families to face life’s challenges with resilience and mental wellness, equipping them with the skills needed for various life stages and situations.

Theory of Change

Our Wellness Resiliency Program aims to improve the mental well-being, resiliency, and social skills of young people through Social Emotional Learning (SEL) training. We believe that by providing these skills and knowledge, individuals can better navigate challenges and strengthen healthy relationships within their family and peers.

Funding and Availability

The Wellness Resiliency Program is fully funded by the Children Services Council-Leon for students residing in the target zip codes of 32301, 32303, 32304, 32305, and 32310 in Leon County, Florida. However, our programming is available nationwide, with current satellite locations in Quincy, FL, and Orlando, FL.

Program Structure and Timeline

The program consists of weekly sessions over a three-month period, blending group workshops, parent engagement workshops, individual supporting counseling, and 1:1 individual checkins for students and parents to provide a comprehensive approach to building resilience and social emotional literacy.

Facilitator Profiles

Meet our team of experienced social workers, therapists, life coaches and educators, each specialized in different aspects of mental wellness and resilience, dedicated to supporting your child’s journey.

Our partnerships with Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, University of Central Florida and CareerSource Capital Region- Leap Program provides us with student interns pursuing their degrees in Social Work, Psychology or related fields for facilitation of Wellness Resiliency Programs. 

Our Program Director:
Marissa Batie-Collier, LMSW
 
Marissa Batie-Collier is the esteemed Program Director of the Wellness Resiliency Program at SG Mental Health Counseling. A licensed social worker, Marissa holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida State University’s College of Social Work. Her academic background laid a solid foundation for her career, where she has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to enhancing mental wellness and resilience within communities. With years of experience in the field, Marissa’s leadership is characterized by compassion, expertise, and a proactive approach to addressing mental health challenges. She is dedicated to fostering environments where individuals can learn, grow, and thrive through comprehensive social-emotional learning and support.

2. Consultation Meeting: Schedule a free initial consultation to discuss your child’s needs and program suitability.
3. Registration: Fill out forms and provide necessary documentation to complete registration.

Consent to Access Family Information Form (This form is mandatory for all enrollees, but access to family information is not required)

4. Program Orientation: Attend an orientation to learn about the program, meet facilitators, and understand the journey ahead.
